Anniversary Date

Usually, we always go away for our anniversary. This year we are saving up for a new bed set to fit our new King size mattress we just got. (With a new family member coming our queen sized bed had reached it's limit)This meant we had to stay local. Mom watched the kids for us and we did something we have not really got to do since having kids. We went antiquing in Old Town Orange. We never buy anything, but it is so fun to see what crazy stuff you can find. After our Date in Orange we ended up at Sprinkles and headed home to finally watch the rest of the Social Network without having to pause it every 5 minutes for new news updates from Jack and Liam. In other words ...it was a perfect date.

Mine was better

Does the above dog have dog boobs or is it just me

We kept finding wedding stuff all day. Doesn't this couple look just like us...well at least when you are tripping on LSD it does

The swelling stomach is not the baby it was that chili hamburger I ate pictured above

Oh Bob! How I love thee!

Seriously, Satan himself had to have painted that...

I took this picture for Jack...Then I noticed the train said "Erie" as if it was asking for help with that creepy kid mannequin behind him...(btw I realize Eerie has two ee's)

Oh Dolly! How I love thee!

Guess who has an Anniversary today??

11 Years ago John and I were married in Newport Harbor. Our marriage is easy and just works. I have no real tips or key notes as to why it works so well; it just does. I do know that from the day we met it seemed like the two of us had an awful lot in common and that helped us a lot from the get go. We do give and take a lot, we rarely argue, and we still try to impress each other daily even after all this time. I find it odd sometimes that nobody ever asks how my marriage is doing…almost as if everyone just assumes it is great. And it is, but sometimes it is still fun to talk about...

So since I never really get to talk about us, I thought for our anniversary I would put out some maybe unknown facts about our history. Here goes...

  • We have been together for 15 years…we met when we were 19

  • It took us 4 months of spending pretty much every day together to finally get to our first kiss

  • We are both the third child in families of four children

  • We both agreed to have three kids that first week of our romance (we went from slow to fast)

  • We combined our checking accounts about 4 months after we started dating

  • John did not have a car when we met, he worked in Cypress. That was a total bitch and he took the bus a lot. 15 years later he is back to no car and now rides his bike to work every day. (luckily, he works in Mission Viejo)

  • Our relationship began at Pageant of the masters where we were both body models in paintings

  • Our Dads are the exact same age 1 day apart

  • Both sets of our parents are still married and have been for a helluva long time

  • The first 3 years of our relationship were spent long distance; he went to school in Michigan. It finally got to be too hard and I spent the last two semesters with him living in Michigan. Um, did I mention it was Flint, Michigan? Yeah that is what true love is all about - living in the rape capitol of the country

  • We have been to a lot of the states in America. To all those who wonder why we stayed in the OC that is why. Once you drive all over you realize no place is as perfect for raising a family as the OC.

  • We moved into our very first apartment 1-1-2000. That night we ended up in the ER when John sliced his head open putting our bed together.

  • We walked out of our wedding to Mama Cass’ “Dream a Little Dream”.

  • We have horrible wedding pictures and didn't even own a camera when Jack was born.

  • We honeymooned in the most exotic of places. Georgia.

  • People watching is still and always has been our favorite activity.

  • We lost our first baby to a miscarriage.

  • We have never missed an episode of Joel McHale’s "The Soup".

  • We are both toy addicts and love going to Toys R us with or without the kids.

  • We are both messy, but if you were to ask John, he would say it is just me.

  • We have the two of the most awesome boys in the world (ok so that is a well-known fact).

  • We talk a lot. A LOT. I never get tired of hearing his voice and what he has to say and
we love to debate lame topics.

  • We had the best garlic fries of our lives at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

Hmmmm….I am sure there is more, but it is 4:00 am and I am now at loss and wonder if anyone will make it through this list anyways.

Happy 11 years of marriage to the man that has made my life very very easy to live.
